So, I saw this done by a friend of mine and I loved the snapshot feel of capturing life. I know I won’t do it every day, but once a week I think might be fun. I’ll be linking back to The Simple Woman’s Daybook. I hope some of y’all will consider doing this too. It’s quite fun.
FOR TODAY
Outside my window… I see Sam’s red ball sitting on the patio. It’s dirty and well-loved. She hasn’t played with it as much as she did when she was younger, but she still finds comfort seeing it out there.
I am thinking… that I need to write more either on the blog or in a private journal so that I can get some of the things I worry about out of my head where they’re less likely to do damage.
I am thankful for… a fun day; kids who mostly listen; and being healthy enough to take them for some fun time at the splash park.
From the learning rooms… we’re working on air and wind in science and just about to start the nomads in history. Lots of story time and work on reading. Things are going great!
From the kitchen… P made a praline pork tenderloin last night which is incredible. I’m planning to make some Malted Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies this afternoon, which is getting away from me at this point.
I am wearing… a pair of shorts and an Indianapolis Super Bowl Champions t-shirt.
I am creating… gifts for my favorite twins who will be turning one very soon.
I am going… to pick up pictures I’ve had developed later this afternoon. A lot of my frames require refreshing.
I am reading… Hannah’s List; The Online Writing Conference: A Guide for Teachers and Tutors
; Mind in the Making: The Seven Essential Life Skills Every Child Needs
; Creating Significant Learning Experiences: An Integrated Approach to Designing College Courses (Jossey Bass Higher and Adult Education Series)
; and, Strong-willed Child Or Dreamer?
(yes, I read a lot).
I am hoping… for a great afternoon with my kids.
I am hearing… my son’s voice as he wanders around talking and some babbling from the baby’s room.
Around the house… I need to pick things up and get my desk reclaimed (again). It would be really nice if could do the scrub thing for the floors. We’ll see.
One of my favorite things… is snuggling Katie after she comes out of a bath. She always smells so fresh.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Cookies didn’t happen today, so we’ll do them tomorrow. We’re going to do a few more air experiments and I need to set up for the next unit in science.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing…
