In my life this week… I’ve been traveling for work and started the Maximize Your Mornings challenge. This part of my attempt to redraft my life so that I’m living more intentionally.
In our homeschool this week… not much happened. Ben was sick at the start of the week. We did talk about the nasty strep germ and how his white blood cells fight it if he rests, drinks, and takes his medicine. He spent a lot of his time this week playing educational games on the iPod. It worked for us anyway.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share… sick days come and having quiet things they can do helps ease the sick and fill the time. Educational things are just bonus territory.
I am inspired by… The amazing group of women I work with: Angel, Heidi, Stacy, Lisa, Lana, Julie, Chris, Deb, and our fearless leader, Ann. What we can come up with when we get together is awe inspiring. Can’t wait to rock Fall term!
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… sigh. The kids saw Dr. D twice this week. Once for Ben and once for Katie,
My favorite thing this week was… the amazing food I got to eat on this trip. I ate so well, especially for allergy girl.
What’s working/not working for us… right now, I think being low-key is working really well for us. It’s been hard to lay low, especially for Ben once the antibiotic kicked in, but he’s doing a lot better.
Things I’m working on… still working on the mission statement. I have ideas and I can’t wait to actually work on the writing part tomorrow,
I’m reading… The Not So Big Life by Sarah Susanka. This was my airplane read & man, did I mark this book up. I’ll probably be talking about it a lot as the adjunct life section of this blog gets more focus (that’s the Monday posts for those wondering).
I’m cooking… not much at the moment, but I’m contemplating figuring out falafel.
I’m grateful for…
great friends and safe travels for us all. My MYM group, another great group of women. I love it when women work to build each other up rather than to tear each other down.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share… “Our ideas of ourselves construct the reality we experience” (Susanka, 2007, p. 75).
